Dr. Michael Ford
Mike Ford is a Research Associate at Air Products. Mike joined the Organic Reactions Catalysis Society in 1988, at which time he presented a paper and co-authored a second at the 12th Conference which was held at the La Mansion del Rio Hotel in San Antonio. After serving on the ORCS Board as a Director from 1996 - 1998 and as a Session Chair for the 17th Conference in New Orleans in 1998, Mike served as the ORCS Chairman for the 18th Conference in Charleston, SC in the spring of 2000. As Past Chair (2000 - 2002), he established ORCS’ presence on the internet, and served as the first Webmaster from 2002 - 2006. In addition to his 10 years of service on the Board, Mike was on the Editorial Board of the 19th Conference and is currently serving on the Editorial Board for the 22nd Conference. Mike has contributed 12 papers and posters to ORCS Conferences. In addition to his official service to the Society, Mike has been a continual and valued advisor to the ORCS chairs who have followed him in the office. Mike’s typical response to almost any question is “What can I do to help?” Because of Mike’s continual and dedicated service to the Society, the Organic Reactions Catalysis Society presents the 2008 Russell Malz Award to Dr. Michael Ford with much thanks and appreciation for his efforts.
